John Frieda Precision Foam Hair Color

I received a coupon for a FREE John Frieda's Precision Foam Hair Color in the mail weeks ago and I finally went to a drugstore yesterday and redeemed it. I want my hair to be a medium brown with some reddish tones mixed in. Kind of like this-

Pretty right? *_________*

But I am worried because this is my second time I am coloring my hair at home. The first time went horribly and the desired color didn't even come out so YEAH. I am hoping it works this time.  According to the instructions I'm not supposed to color my hair if I have already dyed my hair or if I'm going two shades lighter or darker. BUT there are strands of hair that are colored from one year ago that didn't fade yet. AND I am going more than two shades lighter. From black to medium brown. I'm nervous my hair is going to turn out green or something. D:

Anyways- Here is the kit.

It comes with the developer (1), the hair color (2), the conditioner (3), gloves and a pump which I forgot to include in this picture. Pretty neat, eh? Oh and this is how the color really looks like. It's labeled Dark Golden Blonde.

I will be trying this tonight and I will be posting before and after pictures!

New skincare rountine? WHAT?

I know I know. It's only been like, what? One month since I last posted my skincare routine? I have an excuse though. I have been using those same products for a while now so I needed a change. And I am a person who cannot live without change. I went to Sephora last week to redeem my 15% off coupon and was drawn to Boscia's skincare line especially their Clear Complexion Botanical Blast line.

I didn't buy the kit just yet. I wanted to try it out first. I asked the nice lady for some samples. I expected like maybe a sample of only the cleanser but she returned with 3 samples. The cleanser, toner and treatment. I bought the toner though because I had the coupon and I really do not like Murad's Clarifying Toner. Their stuff is too strong and it way too harsh on my sensitive skin. It also SMELLS harsh too. Like alcohol. Anyways, the Boscia one has almost no scent. It smells like herbs but I can't put my finger on which one. Basil, rosemary, I don't know. But it's a nice, clean smell. The only downside is the spray bottle it comes in. When you spray it on your face, there's a lot of extra toner that doesn't hit your face. What I do is I spray it on a cotton pad and then apply it to my face. The cleanser is awesome. Strips away my oil but not all my oil. It actually controls the shine on my face. I was so surprised. It's the first time I've seen a cleanser do that for me. And the treatment is nice too. Not harsh at all. My acne scars on my cheek, nose and chin are disappearing as well as the redness around my nose and chin area. AND I'VE BEEN ONLY USING THIS LINE FOR A WEEK. Isn't it amazing? This line contains willowbark so that must be the magic ingredient. ALL HAIL WILLOWBARK.

MISSHA's signature real complete bb cream review

Back in the beginning of March, I received an email saying was one of the 100 people that won MISSHA's bb cream giveaway! I was super excited and visited their site right away to place my order. But the shade of the BB cream I was eligible for was out of stock. I waited a few days to see if they would re-stock and nope, it was still OOS. I contacted customer service to see if they had plans to restock their inventory and they said they didn't know. Not wanting to lose the chance to redeem my prize, they changed the shade of BB cream I was eligible for to NO. 21 (light pink beige). I then ordered right away. LOL. I also ordered a little something extra because I wanted to take advantage of the free shipping opportunity. I show you those items later. First is the BB cream review.

I've tried liquid, powder and even cream foundation. Of these, my favorite was powder (Bare Minerals). I liked how the powder feels light on my skin and my face is able to breathe. When I used to use liquid (Revlon's foundation, I forgot the name) and cream foundation (Clinque's city base compact foundation), I felt like the foundation was seeping into my pores. My face felt so heavy and while it provided great coverage, I hated it. My skin felt so trapped and dirty. Thus, I switched to powder and I love how my skin feels so free. BUT, there's one downside to powder foundations. It does not provide enough coverage. I still see a little redness around my nose and chin area when I am finished with my makeup. I was first iffy on trying BB cream despite all the rave reviews. I hate liquid based foundations because they feel so heavy on my face and BB cream IS a liquid based foundation. I'm glad I was chosen for this giveaway because I don't think I would have ever strayed away from my powder foundation. And it forever changed my thinking of, anything liquid=pore clogging and heavy.

After toning and moisturizing my face. I took out my handy ECOtool's foundation brush to apply the BB cream. I applied the cream evenly on my forehead and cheeks and concentrated areas where there was redness like my nose and chin area. Note that I did not use concealer.

My skin looks pretty clear if I say so myself. :))))

I am amazed with the coverage. I cannot stop looking at myself in the mirror! LOL. However, the little bumps on my skin are still visible. But that's more because of my skin's texture than anything else. But I will try the BB cream over foundation primer another time to see how it turns out. Another thing I am surprised about is the sheer lightness of the BB cream. I feels like I just have moisturizer on my face. I thought it would feel thick and heavy but that is not the case. Even as I was applying the cream on, the consistency is very very light. It's not creamy at all. It's even lighter than my bare mineral's moisturizer. Also, I don't know if people care about this but there is no scent at all. I don't like products with strong perfume smells especially if it's going on my face. So it's a thumbs up for scent.

Coverage: 9/10 - Great coverage for redness but I still see the little bumps I have on my cheeks
Scent: 10/10 - No smell.
Protection: 9/10 - SPF 25 and PA++ (Could be a little higher but I am not really concerned with SPF protection)
Price: 7/10 - Pretty pricey (for a poor college student) but a good deal nonetheless. Same range as department store brand foundations. It's 45.99 USD.
Design: 10/10 - The bottle is so pretty! And it has a pump to for easy applications as well.

Overall: 9

MISSHA's signature real complete bb cream is a great product and I find it missing from my room sometimes because my mother took it to use it on her own face. -__-; Haha.

Introduction and my skincare routine

Hey y'all, this will be my beauty/fashion/random rants&loving blog. I decided to start with the most basic topic- my skincare routine. Something I do every morning and every night. So! Here we go.

Makeup removers is a first! I use Shiseido's eye and lip makeup remover. I actually received this as a sample and haven't tried any other eye makeup remover yet so I don't have anything to compare this to. BUT it works well and does it's job. It's super gentle too and doesn't irritate my eyes. The MICAbella cleanser was an impulse buy. I don't particularity love it but it does its job and gets rid of my makeup.

I use two different cleansers. I use the Kiehl's cleanser in the morning. I really like this one because its so gentle and moistures my skin while getting rid of excess oil. This is especially great because my skin is a combination of oily, dry and sensitive skin. Harsh cleansers ruin my skin and with this cleanser I can wash my face 2348329 times a day without it getting dry. I think it's because the cleanser is cream based so it's basically like washing your face with lotion but not really. LOL. Anyways, I use the Loreal cleanser in the night to take off my makeup. I like this cleanser especially because it comes with the exfoliater which guarantees I'm getting all of my makeup off. My face feels squeaky clean afterwards~

I use Murad's clarifying toner. It's okay. I bought it because of the great reviews on Sephora.com but I don't really see a difference in pore size. I used Shiseido's pureness cleanser before Murad's and I think I'll go back to Shiseido after this because the Murad toner stings when I apply it and that's a no-no for me. As for moisturizer, I received samples of Bare Minerals's new line of products. I really like their moisturizer! It's not oily at all but it leaves my skin feeling silky smooth! I will purchase their full product when I run out. Hook, line and sinker. LOL. Before using this sample moisturizer, I've been using Kiehl's Ultra face cream. I love this product. I cannot say how much it helped my skin return to normal. Winter was harsh on my skin and I began flaking no matter how much I moisturized my face. The face cream worked wonders and I recommend this to anyone suffering from dry skin. My skin returned to normal so I've stopped using the cream but I do slather it on occasionally when my skin needs it.

Last step, my Rareminerals night treatment and blemish therapy. I seem like such an avid Bare Minerals fan, I use many of their products in my routine. Lol. Anyways, I love my rare minerals night treatment. It really controls my oil during the night so when I wake up I look fresh and clean! Also, I had large pores around my nose area and I can barely see them anymore! I'm so glad I bought this during their sale, otherwise I would have never tried it ($60 eekk). It really is a must in my skincare routine. Also, I use the Rare Minerals blemish therapy when I see a stray pimple on my face especially before my period. I just put the powder on the pimple and the next morning, it's almost gone! I use it on the pimple for two nights and viola~ skin is back to normal.

That's my skincare routine! Maybe next post will be on skin treatment/masks/scrubs I use. Till next time!
